We camped in Glacier for the night at the Rising Sun campground near St Mary and the eastern boundary of the park.  We spent all day sight seeing and only traveled 85 miles this day.  We had a good dinner in the nearby lodge.  The meal was topped off with a fried apple something that, disappointingly, we discovered was not pie.  The real treat, however, turned out to be the Huckleberry ice cream we ordered with it.  Huckleberry ice cream was a very pleasant new experience for both of us and a miscommunication with our order netted us two very large servings.  We finished it all.

An afternoon hike about the area resulted in most of the mountain wild flower pictures seen later in this album.

A park ranger stopped by and gave us instruction and warnings for dealing with bears.  Later that evening another ranger gave an interesting but rather lengthy group talk on cougars and wolves.  Hoo-booy, I'm sure all of that did nothing to calm Anna's fears.

We slept calmly with an incredible mountain view out the mesh roof of our tent.
