The night before we entered Glacier National Park found us in a motel in
Kalispell, Montana. We had ridden 358 miles. The fellow at the desk
managed to instill in Anna an extra healthy dose of fear for bear in
Glacier. We had to make a shopping trip to a local ski and outdoor shop to
purchase a mongo canister of mace that was the accepted bear deterrent in a
national park environment.
This thing was the size of small fire extinguisher. It claimed it would
fire a stream up to 30 feet for a seven second blast. Pity the poor bear that
messes with Anna. We both awoke to stuffy heads and sore throats that would stay with us for several days. We started our day with a special breakfast treat at Bojangles in Kalispell. Bojangles offered a great breakfast in a fun 1950's decor. They also offered a nice variety of homemade pie that, unfortunately, I did not get to evaluate. |
