Our camp in Butano State
Park. With our blacks and whites on we are dressed for dinner. Hey,
this is as good as we get traveling on the scooter. Butano is between Santa Cruz and San Francisco near the very old and tiny village of Pescadero. A trip to Pescadero in search of an evening meal rewarded us with the discovery of Duarte's Tavern. The place seems to be a local landmark and for good reason. The food was excellent. It seems their cream of artichoke soup is legendary with a proprietary recipe and fresh ingredients grown in a huge garden on the property. The soup was unique and very tasty. All of their food was prepared by hand and fresh including, my favorite, homemade pie. Of course with good food comes the usual somewhat pricey tab for an evening meal. It was worth the extra coin. |
